The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the most important message that we can share with others. It is the message of salvation, eternal life, and a personal relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ.

As Baptists, we believe that the Bible, specifically the King James Version, is the ultimate authority in our faith and daily lives. The Gospel message is clearly presented in the book of Romans, which lays out the steps of salvation that we must take to be saved.

Recognize.

First, we must recognize that we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 states, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” We must admit our sins and ask for God’s forgiveness.

Believe.

Second, we must believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior. Romans 10:9-10 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” We must believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose again on the third day, conquering death and providing a way for us to have eternal life.

Confess.

Third, we must confess our faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” We must declare with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and trust in Him for our salvation.

Live a Life.

Finally, we must live a life of faith and obedience to Jesus Christ. Romans 12:1-2 states, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” We must live a life that reflects our faith in Jesus, seeking to honor Him in all that we do.

The Gospel message is simple, yet profound. We are all sinners in need of a Savior, and Jesus Christ is that Savior. Through faith in Him, we can be forgiven of our sins and have eternal life.

If you have not yet trusted in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, I encourage you to do so today. Simply confess your sins to God, believe in Jesus Christ, and ask for His forgiveness. Make Him the Lord of your life, and trust in Him for your salvation.
